Maybe he made a great mistake by staying in England, should have probably went to the Italian, German or Spanish league, where people would have truly appreciated this magician. the BEST George Best - Maradona good, Pele better, George Best. So many greats to choose from! Some, like David Herd, didn't even make it to the list. I loved watching Charlton, Best, Law, Herd and John Connolly. For years I didn't think we'd see anything like Best again. Perhaps we haven't although Ronaldo looks like he might well make a fist of it.

But for me my vote goes to Ryan Giggs. In his younger days he just seemed to ghost through players who were sliding into him from all angles. Sure, others rode tackles well too but from him it was as if they weren't even there.

Later he had to learn to go round players rather than float over them and he has been doing that ever since.

What tops it is the length of time he has been doing it at the top in one, if not the most competitive leagues in the world. It is this that for me makes him a true great

Johnny Carey, according to my dad, who reckons he was picked to play for United in every outfield position, notwithstanding that the full team consisted of internationals and there were no substitutes. From what I've seen, I'm voting for Duncan Edwards.

Duncan Edwards should also be in the list. He died after the Munich crash so the world never got to see much of him. But Bobby Charlton has always described him as the best player he's ever played with. He's also been described as Roy Keane, Steven Gerrard and Paul Gascoigne rolled into one.

how can you have a list of utd greats and not have DENNIS IRWIN, STEVE BRUCE, GARY PALLISTER or PAUL PARKER on it. After all that is the back 4 that won us our 1st title in 26 years and not 1 of them is on there. But then saying that you got all the famous number 7's except BRYAN ROBSON. Now although he is not a bad player you have included PHIL NEVILLE who unlike the 5 i have mentioned is not a UTD LEGEND he will always just be GARY's brother that once played in a great team. - But then that's just 1 persons opinion
