Spider on the loose in Liverpool

Nothing like this has been seen before in the history of Liverpool, a giant spider was on the loose It was given the name of 'La Princesse', a beguiling name as females spiders usually eat their men.

We found it resting on the side of the Concourse Tower in Lime Street and nobody seemed know what it was going to do next. May be it was thinking of it's next meal because there where plenty of us humans about to make a tasty snack We heard that it had been on the rampage through the streets over the past couple of days and nobody could stop it, despite several attempts to subdue it. They even got in a bunch of expert scientists to study this monster to no avail.

Of course this spider is not real but a concoction of inventive minds that come all the way from France. It has taken the French company La Machine 18 months to get this fabulous piece of street theatre together. It is big and mean, made of steel and wood and takes 12 guys to operate it, 37 tons in weight and 50 feet long, leg to creepy leg. Ugh !!!,

The cost apparently was £1.8million and part of the 2008 Liverpool Capital of Culture celebrations, in our view this spectacle was worth every penny and set the minds of all Scousers alive with terror, morbid curiosity and quite frankly utter amazement

The last we heard, it had come down, scattering everyone in terror and scampered off down the Wallasey tunnel never too be seen again.
