Flower Meadow

Here is a flower meadow we came across near Warrington, Cheshire in the North West of England in August 2009 and what a sight met our eyes, acres of wild flowers !

Most of the flowers below are considered weeds in terms of farming and agriculture and have been greatly diminished by herbicides over the decades but here they are making a real comeback..

Scentless Mayweed (Tripleurospermum inodorum)

Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus)

Corn Cockle (Agrostemma githago)

Field Poppy (Papaver rhoeas)

Corn Marigold (Chrysanthemum segetum)
